Inductive Sensor
Due to the functional principle inductive sensors are designed for, they are exclusively suitable for detecting metal objects. However, they are extremely reliable, very robust, and resistant to harsh environments (high pressure and contamination), making them interesting for a range of industrial applications.
Inductive sensors are extremely precise due to their high level of repeatability. Their simple design and straightforward commissioning ensure minimal downtime in operation.
The use of Inductive Sensors
Inductive sensors are prime candidates for applications when detection of uniform movements is involved – for example, as proximity switches for position confirmation of moving machine parts such as hydraulic cylinders, or for measuring rotational speed on vehicle crankshafts, or pulse generators for engine ignition.
Inductive Sensors SmartFunctions
Communication via IO-Link 1.1 enables individual parameterization of these sensors and the learning of SmartFunctions. With these features, optimal adaptation to application requirements is achieved, which previously was only possible with significantly higher costs. Sensor diagnostic data such as switching cycles or sensor temperature can be read comfortably. This significantly increases the application range as well as the sensor's reliability.
