Programming robots has never been easier

OTC DAIHEN has introduced an iPad based teaching software called Photo Teach that leverages new LiDAR technology to streamline robot programming, making it more efficient and convenient. LiDAR, short for Light Detection and Ranging, is a popular method for detecting the environment by using pulsed laser light to identify and categorize objects.

IPad based phototeach

↪ No expert knowledge required for robot programming

↪ Time-efficient creation of robot programs

↪ Ideally for small batches

↪ No CAD part data necessary

How it works

With Photo Teach, programming the robot is as simple as following steps. First, the LiDAR system creates an image from the workpiece. Next, the user can select the starting and end point of the welding path. The software will automatically create the program and communicates it to the welding robot for execution.

Even complex components can be captured with the 3D LiDAR scan, and the programming can be calculated and displayed in a single image, making the process more intuitive and straightforward.
